ACCOUNTING INTERN/TRAINEE in KNOXFIELD, Victoria
Our company, located in Knoxfield, East Melbourne, is offering unpaid internship opportunity within our office. There will be lots of opportunities to gain experience. The CPA qualified senior accountant will organise the training on the full function of accounting and bookkeeping (including MYOB, QuickBooks and Excel) to ensure the intern can kick start their accounting career.
You need to come to the office 2 days per week for 3 months. You must be reliable, responsible, willing to learn and help with a great attention to detail. Must have a good command of English and is comfortable interacting with all levels in an organisation as well as outside contacts/clients.
Please note that this is an UNPAID internship suitable for international candidates students or recent graduates that want to gain experience in an Australian company.
Job duties will include assistance in the area of bookkeeping, accounting and special projects.
Responsibilities
• Help with accounts receivable, payable and bank statement reconciliation
• Assist with month-end financial reports
• Prepare and post journal entries
• Assist with audits
• Balance sheet reconciliation
• Enter financial transactions in the general ledger
• Manage the monthly tracking of physical inventory
• Support the payment processing team
• Data entry
• Spreadsheet preparation and analysis
• Credit checks
The Successful Applicant
• Students seeking professional training within a business environment.
• Degree qualified in accounting or related discipline, or part time work experience in accounting or related field
• Ambitious and career minded
• Recently commenced CA or CPA studies or an intention to do so
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Access to your own car or living locally in Eastern/Southeastern Melbourne
